Federal minister of physical planning M. Sci. Salko Obhodas, visited Posusje for a meeting with ministers of cantonal ministries in charge of spatial planning and construction, and representatives of the Project USAID SPIRA.

Mr. Vitomir Filipovic, chairman of the Canton Zapadna Herzegovina Assembly, and Mr. Ante Bosnjak mayor of Posusje, participated actively in the meeting.

The topic of the meeting was proposal on changes and supplementations of Cantonal Laws on spatial planning done by USAID SPIRA. After discussions, the decision was taken for all ministries in charge of spatial planning and construction to prepare text of the law on spatial planning and to propose it to the Cantonal governments for adoption and further procedure; not later than September 2008.

Second topic of the meeting was illegal construction and related problems. Work group formed by Federal minister of physical planning, prepared information on illegal construction; containing overview of illegal construction in all cantons, and proposals to prevent illegal construction. After discussions of all participants the information on illegal construction was adopted. As the problem of illegal constructions exists in cantons, therefore this will be the topic for next meetings as well.

Federal minister M. Sci. Salko Obhodas signed 176.000,00 KM contracts with Sister Lucija Pesa on behalf of Monastery of Impeccable Queen Karmela and Mr. Boris Kozemijak on behalf of Jewish municipality, on co financing restoration and rehabilitation of the Monastery of Impeccable Queen Karmela and Jewish Cemetery in Sarajevo. 

The contracts have been signed in accordance with the Program of distribution of the funds for co financing cantonal and projects of local communities – cultural and architectural heritage preservation, determined by the 2008 budget, where individual projects for preservation and reconstruction of National monuments for 2008 were determined. This Program set out by the Federal government also determines amount of funds to be allocated for the above mentioned purposes.

Beneficiaries expressed their contentment with activities of the Federal government and of Federal ministry of physical planning, directed towards reconstruction and renovation of cultural and architectural heritage in BiH.

In accordance with contracted obligations, implementation of the projects should begun immediately.

VISIT TO THE FACULTY OF TRAFFIC AND COMMUNICATIONS

Federal Minister of Physical planning M. Sci. Salko Obhodas visited Faculty of traffic and communications for a meeting with Prof. Dr. Samir Causevic, dean, Prof. Dr. Sefkija Cekis and Prof. Dr. Mehmed Bublin.

Hosts informed minister on current activities and plans of the Faculty as well as with working conditions on the Faculty. Federal minister emphasized importance of collaboration of the Ministry with educational institutions and informed hosts on activities of the Ministry on the preparation and production of the spatial planning documentation for the spatial plan of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and spatial plans of the areas of special significance for the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Minister also expressed his contentment with educational and scientific activities of the Faculty.

Federal minister of physical planning M. Sci. Salko Obhodas signed Contracts for co financing of renovation and protection from further deterioration National monuments in Canton Srednja Bosna, namely for architectural complexes – Fortress in Jajce, Old Town in Travnik, Historical urban area Kresevo, historical site Old Town Prusac, Sarac’s House in Jajce, (the Finances Building), Franciscan monastery in Fojnica, Watch tower in Donji Vakuf and Old mosque in Senkovici.

Mr. Salko Selman prime minister of Canton Srednja Bosna, mayor of Fojnica municipality, and representatives of funds beneficiaries were also present on this ceremony that was held in Fojnica Town hall.

Planned funds for realisation of the projects for preservation and rehabilitation of above mentioned National monuments in 2008 are 1.099.000, 00 KM.

In order to protect, renovate and reconstruct monuments designed as National monuments of BiH by Decision of the Commission to preserve national monuments of BiH, Government of FBiH adopted Program of distribution of funds for co financing projects of cantons and local communities – cultural and architectural heritage protection. This Program defines individual projects of protection and renovation of National monuments in 2008, and also determines amount of funds provided for the above mentioned purposes.

In his opening speech Federal minister of physical planning M. Sci. Salko Obhodas emphasized importance of protection, rehabilitation and reconstruction of cultural and architectural heritage in BiH, and expressed resolution of the Government of FBiH to protect National monuments from further deterioration.

Prime minister of Canton Srednja Bosna, Mr. Salko Selman, expressed his satisfaction with activities of Federal government and of Federal minister of physical planning, directed towards protection and renovation of cultural and architectural heritage, not only in Canton Srednja Bosna but also on the entire territory of Federation BiH.

Conclusion of this meeting was to immediately proceed with implementation of granted projects in accordance with contracted obligations.
