PUBLIC ANOUNCEMENT

Federal minister of physical planning M. Sci. Salko Obhodas signed a Contract for preparation of Spatial Plan of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the period 2008 – 2028 with Consortium consisted of Urban Development Institute of BiH Sarajevo, IPSA d.d. Sarajevo and ECO – Plan Mostar. On behalf of Consortium Contract was signed by Mr. Mugdim Cukle, Director of Urban Development Institute of BiH Sarajevo, and Prof. Dr. Esref Gacanin, director of IPSA d.d. Sarajevo, and Mr. Borislav Puljic, director of ECO-Plan Mostar.

Spatial plan of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the period 2008 – 2028, determines long-term aims and measures of spatial development in accordance with overall planned economic, social and historical development of significance for the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and also land use policy, and directs development of functions and activities on the territory of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Therefore, Federal ministry of physical planning intensified activities toward preparation of the Spatial plan of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for period 2008 – 2028.

The Contract is signed after procedure of International restricted procedure with prequalification, announced on 22. 10. 2007. In the prequalification process four qualified applicants appeared, and they were asked to submit their offers. Out of four applications Commission according to defined criteria, selected Consortium consisted of Urban Development Institute of BiH Sarajevo, IPSA d.d. Sarajevo and ECO-Plan Mostar as a most favourable applicant.

Federal Minister of Physical Planning M. Sci. Salko Obhodas received Istanbul delegation led by Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Baz, chief adviser to the Mayor of Istanbul. After welcoming speech Minister informed delegation on activities and plans of Federal Ministry of Physical Planning. Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Baz delivered regards from the mayor of Istanbul and informed Minister on activities of City Planning Centre of Istanbul (BIMTAS). Delegation representatives expressed their readiness to provide any technical and professional help related to preparation of spatial planning documentation.

Afterwards the delegation visited old part of the city, Bascarsija.

Federal Minister of Physical Planning, M. Sci. Salko Obhodas, Federal Minister of Transport and Communication Mr. Nail Seckanovic, and Federal Minister for Displaced Persons and Refugees Mr. Edin Music, visited Olovo Municipality where they held meeting with the Municipality Mayor, Mr. Alija Abazovic, and president of Municipality Council Mr. Suad Smailhodzic. Mayor Alija Abazovic briefed ministers on current situation and activities in the Municipality and informed the on the problems that they face in the Municipality. On this occasion he asked Federal Government to provide necessary help for the solution of those problems. Various issues, as state of the protection of national monuments within Olovo Municipality, road infrastructure, vehicle and medical equipment shortage in the Health centre in Olovo, as well as problems of displaced persons and refugees from the area of Olovo Municipality were discussed.

Federal ministers expressed their readiness to get involved in the solution of those problems within the scope of their capacities. One of the conclusions of this meeting was to make request to the Foundation for the sustainable development “OdRaz” to implement projects from the competence of this Foundation, on the area of Olovo Municipality.

Federal Minister of Physical Planning M. sci. Salko Obho?aš visited Ljubuški Municipality where he met speaker of town council Mr. Davorin Medi?. Topic of the meeting was reconstruction and rehabilitation of the Old Fort of Ljubuški, which was designated as national monument by decision of the Commission to Preserve National Monuments of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During his visit to Ljubuški Municipality Federal Minister also visited “Croatia Osiguranje” where he met Mr. Mladen Markoti? director of “Croatia Osiguranje” and Mr. Ivan Luburi? assistant director.

PUBLIC ANOUNCEMENT

Federal Minister of Physical planning today signed contracts on voluntary work with successful candidates. Federal minister expressed his contentment regarding engagement of young, high educated personnel who will have opportunity to gain necessary experience in the work. Minister Obho?aš in his opening speech emphasized that the Government of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina decided to engage volunteers in all federal ministries in order to enable gaining of work experience and to raise chances of employment for these young people.

Federal ministry of physical planning engaged 5 high educated volunteers who will be performing planned jobs and tasks during next year.
